A Familiar Verse - Or Is It? John 14:1-3

Parent to Child:  What do you think Jesus is doing right now?
Child: Making homes for me in Heaven!
Parent:  Aaahhhhh yes...

But wait - that's not true!

Dear Jesus - Please circumcise our eyes so we no longer labor to see through our traditions but rather see Your Word in its crystal clarity....

John 14:1-3 (NASB)

Jesus Comforts His Disciples

14 Do not let your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
Verse 2 clearly states there are 'many dwelling places'.  This is differentiated from the 2 statements 'prepare a place for you'.  The God who created the entire earth in 7 literal days has taken at least 2 thousand years to make homes for us in Heaven?  That doesn't make logical sense.  Thus we can see clearly that there are already dwelling places in Heaven - Jesus would have told us if that were not the case.
No Johnny, Jesus is not in Heaven with His hammer making us each a home.  He's doing something far better!
Thank You Jesus, that You never take something away from us without opening our eyes to the far better reality You have for us...
