Ears - Are They Safe?

Be a good listener. Your ears will never get you in trouble. -Frank Tyger

I have no idea who Frank Tyger is - and I certainly wish him all the best.  However - if I were his friend, I'd have to say:  'Pssst - Frank...  Can I let you in on something?  Our ears CAN get us into trouble!  They are a 'window' to our souls.  That's what the Bible says - and I believe it.'

Consider for a moment the following scriptures:

1Sam. 9:15  Now the LORD had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying,
Neh. 9:30  Yet many years didst thou forbear them, and testifiedst against them by thy spirit in thy prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore gavest thou them into the hand of the people of the lands.

Job 4:12  Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof.
Job 12:11  Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?
Job 13:1  Lo, mine eye hath seen all this, mine ear hath heard and understood it.
Prov. 15:31  The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.
Prov. 17:4  A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue.
Prov. 18:15  The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.
Prov. 20:12  The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them.
Prov. 25:12  As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.
Prov. 28:9  He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
Is. 50:4  The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.
Is. 50:5  The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.
Is. 55:3  Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
Jer. 7:24  But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

Thank You Jesus that You open our ears to hear wonderful words of life straight from Your mouth!
