In the 9th grade, I was blessed to have an English teacher who believed in incorporating the subject of astronomy and the Bible into English class. Her name was Alice Straw - and I still have the notebook we were required to make in that class.
One of the most important points I recall was her statement that had people not lost sight of the Bible, the general populace in the period of time called the Dark Ages would not have adopted the belief the earth was flat.

Recently I've been pondering this verse and her comment. Makes me wonder - what other literal truths have I missed that are lying there, right at the surface?
Thank You Jesus that You never give up on us. Thank You that You gave us Yourself in the form of the Bible to remain with us that we might discover You are the Way, the Truth and the Life.
